Vanuatu

Vanuatu is a chain of around 80 volcanic islands in the South Pacific. The population is spread across the islands, where travel and communication are limited. Transport and infrastructure are difficult and limited; some communities are so isolated that they might share a single vehicle for the entire island.

With communities so isolated and vulnerable to the whims of natural disasters, strong local networks are important for the ongoing health of communities and to be ready when cyclones, earthquakes, and volcanic activity strike.

Our partnership in Vanuatu focuses on providing disaster recovery training and support in communities, as well as support for local pastors, churches, students, and chaplaincy.
